La Maison de l'Espadrille has been around since 1960. The Aurauzo brothers were initially from Goès, a little village near to Oloron-Sainte-Marie in the Pyrénées Atlantiques region, but decided to move to Vieux Boucau in Landes in 1988. In 2006, the company moved its headquarters to Messanges to allow for increased production capacities. Manufactured in France, the espadrilles show real respect for traditional craftsmanship and production is entirely mechanical. The materials used in the design of the espadrilles are all natural: cotton for the upper, jute for the sole and natural rubber for the outer sole.
